Biochem supports eMobility
First Electric Car Charging Station Installed at the Production Facility
One of the world’s most trusted manufacturers of feed additives for animal nutrition, Biochem continues its efforts to support eMobility. The company has recently installed an advanced electric vehicle charging station at their production facility located in Lohne, Germany. A proponent of eco-friendly and sustainable technologies, Biochem plans to come up with their second charging station in 2019.
Today, close to a quarter of all CO2 emissions worldwide can be attributed to the transport sector. Electric vehicles present a surefire alternative to reduce this percentage significantly. In comparison to internal combustion engine-driven vehicles, these vehicles don’t produce exhaust gases and help improve the local air quality. This is why numerous countries around the world have decided to support electric-powered road transport. According to the International Energy Agency, the number of electric vehicles on the road around the world will hit 125 million by 2030.
Easy availability of charging stations is one of the foremost challenges for individuals that have already done away with their oil-powered vehicles. Though the numbers are increasing steadily, a significant gap still remains between demand and supply. The charging station can support two plug types (Type 2 and Schuko) and is capable of charging two cars simultaneously.
Biochem is a family-owned organization that manufactures premium quality feed additives and health supplements for pigs, poultry, ruminants, and horses. Known for their stringent quality policies and eco-friendly business practices, their company currently operates in over sixty countries all over the world.
“The new charging station is evidence of Biochem’s increasing efforts to accelerate sustainable and environmentally-friendly technologies,” said the company’s owner Eckhard Thölke.
